ABOUT LANA
RADOS
Lana is a qualified
clinical councellor, with 9 years of formal
professional training and 17 years of clinical experience. She is
registered as a Clinical Counsellor with BCACC.
Her qualifications
were obtained first in her country of origin, former Yugoslavia and
later in the UK, where she lived and worked for the National Health
Services, in private practice and as a university lecturer for 9 years.
Since moving
to Canada in 2001, she has been registered as a Clinical Counsellor
with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). In addition
to her private practice, she works for Interlock Employee and Family
Assistance Corporation of Canada, Family Services of Grater Vancouver
and Burnaby Family Life.
Lana’s
extensive knowledge in the area of human cognitive and emotional development,
behaviour and interactions, in addition to her confident, yet warm,
caring and accepting style have proven highly effective in assisting
her clients to live happier and more fulfilled lives.
Lana’s
additional 4 years of intensive post-clinical-psychology training
in integrative psychotherapy has further enhanced her therapeutic
and counseling skills, equipping her with a flexible and highly efficient
approach based on a coherent, research based theory. As a result,
Lana is able to assist her clients in reaching their therapeutic goals
extremely fast.
Lana is qualified and skilled in assessing and helping
with a broad variety of problems, such as: stress & anxiety, depression,
relationship and family issues (including parenting and working with
children and teenagers), work and health related issues, issues from
past (including abuse), trauma and PTSD, grief, conflict resolution,
self-esteem, career coaching etc.
Lana is a certified
Hypnotherapist and EMDR therapist, registered with the Criminal Injuries
Compensation Board, WCB and ICBC.
